Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is a modern image format created by Google. It makes images smaller, so many websites use it, and pictures you save from the web often end up as .webp files.
Some apps, older programs, printing services and upload forms still don't accept WebP. JPG (also written JPEG) is the most widely supported image format in the world, so converting to JPG makes your pictures open almost anywhere.
JPG can't store transparency, so any transparent areas become white. If you need to keep a transparent background, use the WebP to PNG converter instead.
Your files stay private
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see them, not even us.Read our privacy policy
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose quality converting WebP to JPG?
JPG uses lossy compression, so the image changes very slightly, but at the default 90% quality the difference isn't visible in normal use. Choose a higher quality for the best result or a lower one for smaller files.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. To keep transparency, convert WebP to PNG instead.
Can I convert animated WebP files?
Only the first frame of an animated WebP is converted, because JPG can't store animation.
Is photo information (EXIF) kept?
No. Metadata such as the camera model and GPS location is removed during conversion, which also protects your privacy.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your web browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to us or anyone else, so they stay completely private.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert. The only limit is your device: very large files need more memory.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux. Very large files may take longer on older phones.
