Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

In short

  • Files you convert are processed on your own device, inside your web browser. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
  • There are no user accounts. You don’t need to give us your name, email address or any other details to use the tools.
  • We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or share personal information.
  • Our hosting provider processes basic technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver the website and protect it from attacks.

The rest of this policy explains these points in detail.

Who we are

TheToolZip (thetoolzip.com) is operated by Muhammad Luqman, trading as TheToolZip Technologies, based in Oman (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, email us at support@thetoolzip.com.

Files you process with our tools

All conversion, compression, merging, splitting and calculation happens locally in your web browser, using code that runs on your device. Your files:

  • are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party;
  • are read into your device’s memory only while a tool is working on them, and are released when you close or reload the page;
  • are never seen, stored or logged by us.

The results are created inside your browser and saved directly to your device when you download them. Because we never receive your files, we cannot view, recover or delete them for you.

The code our tools need, including open-source libraries, is served from our own website. The tools do not send your files or their contents to any external service. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab and use a tool. You will see that no file data is sent. As an extra safeguard, our website tells your browser to block the page from connecting to, or loading anything from, other websites.

One exception: when you preview or record your own HTML file with the HTML to video tool, the file stays on your device, but anything it links to on other websites (such as web fonts, images or scripts) is loaded from those websites, just as when you open the file yourself. The file runs in a sealed-off frame that can’t reach the rest of our website or your data on it.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, your browser connects to our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., which delivers the pages. Like any web server, it processes technical information needed to deliver the website and keep it secure, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time of the request.

This information is used to deliver the website, to protect it (for example, to block attacks and abuse) and to fix technical problems. We do not use it to identify you or to build a profile about you. Cloudflare processes it under its own privacy policy and keeps it only for a limited time.

Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

The website stores a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage, only to make features work the way you asked:

Name Purpose How long
preferred-lang Remembers the language you chose, so we stop suggesting a different one. Until you clear your browser data
theme Remembers whether you chose the light or dark look with the theme button. Until you clear your browser data
favorites The tools you starred, so the homepage can show them first. Until you remove them or clear your browser data
recent The last few tools you opened, shown on the homepage. Until you clear the list or your browser data

This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. Because it is strictly necessary for a feature you use, it does not require consent under EU and UK electronic privacy rules. You can remove it at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser settings.

So that the website keeps working without an internet connection, your browser also saves copies of the pages and program files you’ve opened (using a “service worker”). They contain no personal information and none of your files, stay on your device, and are removed when you clear this website’s data.

Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the website from bots and attacks. Learn about Cloudflare’s cookies.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the content of your message and anything you attach. We use this only to reply to you and deal with your request, based on our legitimate interest in answering messages (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your request, and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Your email is handled by our email service provider.

Please don’t send us files you want converted, or any sensitive personal information. We never need them.

Sharing personal data

We do not sell, rent or share personal information for advertising. We share data only:

  • with service providers that help us run the website (hosting and email), who process it on our behalf;
  • when the law requires it;
  • to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep data

  • Your files: never received, never stored.
  • Hosting logs: kept by Cloudflare for a limited period under its own policies.
  • Emails: as long as needed to deal with your request.
  • Local storage: on your device until you clear it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the Sultanate of Oman, the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct it or ask us to delete it;
  • restrict or object to its processing;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent, where processing is based on consent;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents: we do not sell or “share” personal information (as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA) and we do not use sensitive personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.

To use any of these rights, email us. We will reply within the time the law requires (usually one month) and may need to confirm your identity first. In most cases we hold no personal data about you at all.

Children

The website is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Processing files on your device is our strongest protection: the files you convert never travel over the internet to us. The website is only served over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the small amount of data we handle.

Our pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if our practices change. For example, if we add analytics or advertising, we will update this page before those features go live and ask for your consent where the law requires it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
