A video that travels as a web page
The video is stored inside the HTML file itself, so the page needs no internet connection and no separate video file. Anyone can open it by double-clicking it, on any computer or phone with a web browser. It's handy for sharing a clip where video files aren't accepted, or for presentations on computers without a player.
The video is first made into an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound, which every browser plays. If it already is one, that's just a quick repackaging. Storing video in a page makes it about a third bigger than the video file, so this works best for short videos.
To put a video on your own website instead, upload the video file and use our video embed code generator.

Frequently asked questions
How big will the HTML file be?
About a third bigger than the MP4 version of the video. Compress the video first if you need a smaller page.
Does the page need the internet?
No. Everything is inside the file. It only needs a web browser with JavaScript turned on, as it is by default.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your web browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to us or anyone else, so they stay completely private.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert. The only limit is your device: very large files need more memory.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux. Very large files may take longer on older phones.
