Your files never leave your device
How to split a PDF
- 1Drag your PDF into the box above, or click to choose it.
- 2Choose how to split it. You can make one PDF per page, one PDF per range, or one PDF with only the pages you choose.
- 3For ranges, type the pages, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10.
- 4Click Split PDF, then download the files. Several files come together in a ZIP.
Ways to split a PDF
One PDF per page turns every page into its own file, which is useful when different pages go to different people.
One PDF per range creates a file for each range you type. For example, 1-3, 4-10 gives two files, with pages 1 to 3 and pages 4 to 10.
One PDF with the chosen pages keeps only the pages you list, in that order, in a single file. It's a quick way to remove unwanted pages or pull out one chapter.

Frequently asked questions
How do I write page ranges?
Put commas between pages and ranges, and a dash inside a range, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Write 8- for page 8 to the end, or -3 for the first three pages.
Can I split several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add several PDFs and each is split with the same settings. Download them one at a time, or all together as a ZIP.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied unchanged, so text stays sharp and searchable.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not at the moment. Remove the password or protection in a PDF app first.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your web browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to us or anyone else, so they stay completely private.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert. The only limit is your device: very large files need more memory.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux. Very large files may take longer on older phones.
